Talkora English (Talkora) is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us about anything on this page at talkoraenglish@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, and the first name, country and English level you give us during onboarding.
- Billing: a Stripe customer identifier, what you bought, and when. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Session credits: a record of credits granted, used and expired.
- Technical: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a cookie remembering your language choice. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it
- To run your account and place you in a suitable group (necessary to perform our contract with you).
- To take payment and keep accurate financial records (contract and legal obligation).
- To email you about your sessions and account (contract).
- To send marketing email, only where you have opted in (consent, withdrawable at any time).
Who we share it with
- Stripe: payments and billing.
- Supabase: database and authentication.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Beehiiv: marketing email, if you opted in.
We do not sell personal data, and we never have.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens for people in the EEA or UK, transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Account and credit data for as long as your account exists, and for up to 12 months after you delete it. Payment records for as long as tax law requires, typically six to seven years.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email talkoraenglish@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Talkora is not intended for people under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
